How to use Audio Transcription

What this does
Converts speech to text. Voice notes, recordings, meetings, lectures.
Outputs plain text, SRT subtitles, or JSON with timestamps.
What you need
Your
OpenRouter API key
(sk-or-v1-…)
Get one at
openrouter.ai/keys
. Add credits. Set your own spend limit.
An audio file. Any common format.
Supported formats
Direct:
MP3, MP4, WAV, M4A, FLAC, OGG, WEBM
Browser conversion:
AAC — converted automatically in your browser.
Server conversion:
WMA, AMR, CAF, AIFF — converted on the Praxis server and deleted immediately.
For large files
Files over 24MB are split into chunks automatically.
Progress is saved after each chunk. If interrupted, reload the file to resume from where it stopped.
Your key goes directly from your browser to OpenRouter.
